When Louis Van Belle went looking for a way to make his online presence more professional, he quickly clashed with the limitations of his existing website built with Google Sites. He wanted a solution that not only looked better but which he could manage and expand at his own pace.

## The challenge: Being stuck in the limits of Google Sites

Google Sites is useful for quick work, but soon you'll be running into the boundaries of the system.

- The design is very limited, which makes the site look less professional.
- It is difficult to add additional functionalities, such as SEO optimization or plugins extensions.
- He remained dependent on Google's limitations, without really having control over his own website.

For someone who is technically involved and wants to be able to do his own work on their website, that is frustrating. Therefore he chose to invest in a WordPress website which he could completely control himself.

## The solution: a forward-looking WordPress site, explained step by step

We built a new, fresh and professional WordPress website together, completely tailored to his branding. Because Louis wanted to keep control of himself, we chose a clear structure and easy-to-manage theme. To keep the learning curve as short as possible, I gave him a personal Zoom tutorial in which I went through the whole site from A to Z with him: how he can customize pages, add blog posts, manage images, even fine tune SEO settings. Within days he felt at home in his new environment.

Thanks to the new WordPress site, Louis now has:

- Full control over his website, without being dependent on third parties.
- A modern and convincing online look that fits better with his expertise.
- The freedom to add, adapt and expand content whenever he wants.
- Insight into SEO and better tools to be found in Google.
- A learning curve that was greatly shortened thanks to personal guidance.
